A fire the day after Thanksgiving has been ruled accidental and due to electrical issues.
Richfield-Misenheimer, New London and Millingport volunteer fire departments responded shortly before 9 p.m. Friday to a dwelling at 28085-B Ryan Road.
Stanly County Fire Marshal Evan Faulkner said the fire was under control in about an hour.
The American Red Cross and others are helping the family with immediate needs.
Faulkner wanted to remind the public to not overload electrical circuits with holiday decorations this season. He also stressed the need to keep real Christmas trees watered.
