Former Major Leaguer Monty Montgomery to be honored at Albemarle Senior Night

Albemarle High School Baseball will welcome former Bulldog Monty Montgomery to Senior Night on April 17 at 6 p.m. against Gray Stone.
The team welcomes everyone to attend this fundraiser for the program.
Montgomery went 6-3 for the Kansas City Royals in 77 innings in 1972. He recorded 36 strike outs with a 2.81 ERA in the show.
Montgomery set an American Association Record in Omaha (AAA) with seven shut-outs in one season in 1972.
The 6-foot-3 right hander was an honorable mention All-American at Pfeiffer while taking the Falcons to the NAIA National Tournament in 1968. He won his last 13 decisions at Pfeiffer and holds the lowest ERA of all collegiate pitchers in North Carolina (0.62) in 1967. He finished his college career with an 18-3 mark.
Montgomery will throw out the first pitch, sign baseball cards and greet fans.
