Friends of the Stanly County Public Library have book sale

Friends of the Stanly County Public Library will have its spring book sale in the lower level of the library at 133 E. Main St., Albemarle.
The sale begins 4-7 p.m. April 9 for members with an active paid membership. Memberships are available at the door.
The sale continues 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 10-11 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 12.
Books can be purchased for $1 per plastic grocery bag on April 12.
Proceeds help the Friends of the Stanly County Library support public library services in all branches.
The sale includes hardbacks and paperbacks in children’s, young adult and adult books. This year there are hundreds of children’s non-fiction books. Also available are CDs, audio books, DVDs and more. Prices range from $.25 to $1. Cash or cards accepted.
This sale includes many special collections that will be offered with special pricing, including a 15-volume set of Louis L’Amour westerns, FoxFire Set, several first edition fantasy series, Will Durant’s “Story of Civilization” and many more.
Stanly County teachers are invited to select $5 worth of age-appropriate books for their classrooms.
Friends of the Stanly County Library, formed as a non-profit in 1992, supports the Stanly County Library and its services, informs others of issues affecting the library, and assists in promoting literacy in Stanly County.
Each year the Friends sponsor special events such as author presentations, workshops, fall and spring book sales, and the Children’s Summer Reading Program.
