The current home of the Badin Historic Museum was built on Falls Road and Maple Street around 1913- 1916 as a collections office for Alcoa. It was later converted into a maintenance shop. Around 1917-1920, it became the home of Badin’s kindergarten and It served in this role until about 1935 when it became a community building. On May 12, 1999, the building was moved to its current location. On Feb. 10, 2000, the Friends of Badin Historic Museum and members of the community celebrated it officially becoming the home of the Badin Historic Museum. A fundraising effort then began to raise money to purchase cases that would house the collection of items that would showcase the history of Badin. Thanks to the Badin Historic Museum for sharing this wonderful photo. {Lewis Bramlett – Stanly County Historical Society}
