Addyson Burleson, a sophomore at Tillery Christian Academy, has been accepted to serve in the North Carolina General Assembly House Page Program for four days during April.
Admission to the program is highly competitive and allows those serving to work alongside North Carolina representatives in the House Chamber as they carry out the legislative process.

Her duties as a House Page may include delivering messages, distributing documents, or running errands during the daily sessions in the House Chamber.
Service to others is an important part of Burleson’s life; she is active in her church, Hillside Baptist, and at Tillery Christian Academy, she is on the school’s yearbook committee, a member of the puppet ministry and a tutor for younger students.
She works as a certified lifeguard at the YMCA and West Stanly Community pool while maintaining a 3.8 GPA through online coursework at Liberty University.
In addition to excelling in coursework, she recently won the Democracy in America essay contest for the Norwood chapter of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
She will be the first student at TCA to enter dual enrollment with Liberty University in 2025-26 in order to graduate with both a high school diploma and an Associate’s Degree.
Aspiring to continue her education at Duke University after graduation to obtain a degree in criminal justice, she hopes to become an attorney.
