The Stanly Collaborative Partners in Health (formerly Stanly County Partners in Health) will have its annual Golden Shoe event.
From March 29 through April 11, more than 200 gold painted and tagged shoes will be hidden all around local parks in Stanly County. All ages are invited to go hunting for golden shoes. Every shoe found is a winner of a prize.
To receive your prize, you must turn in the shoe and tag on Prize Claim Day April 12 at City Lake Park from 10 a.m. to noon.
Prizes are limited to one per person.
Golden Shoe parks include West Badin, Badin Recreation, Chuck Morehead, City Lake, Norwood, Oakboro, Richfield, Rock Creek, New London, Locust and Stanfield.
Since 2009, this event has encouraged community members, from toddlers to seniors, to get outside and get moving. It is also a way to spend time with family and friends.
Even if you don’t find a golden shoe, still head on out to City Lake Park on Prize Claim Day for Albemarle Parks & Recreation’s Easter Eggstravaganza.
Stanly Collaborative Partners in Health coalition’s mission is to improve the whole person health of Stanly County residents through cooperation, communication, and education.
If your business or organization would like to contribute a prize for this event, contact Mikayla Williams, health educator with Stanly County Health Department, at 704-986-3016.
