Albemarle High School senior Vincent Gregory has been awarded the Morehead-Cain Scholarship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Gregory was previously named a semifinalist in December for his academic, athletic and community achievements.

The scholarship provides full tuition and board for four years.

Gregory was the chief marshal for the Class of 2024 graduation and a member of the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society.

He is a three-time captain, four-year starter and two-time recipient of the Coaches Award in football.

In wrestling, he is a three-time regional qualifier and all-conference selection.

He is also a 400-meter dash regional qualifier and state competitor.
