Today’s picture shows the 1964-65 West Badin Boys’ Basketball team. This picture was published in the Feb. 5, 1965 Stanly News & Press, and was also used in the school yearbook. At the point this picture appeared in the SNAP, the team had a perfect 13-0 record. Led by Coach J.B. Davis, the West Badin Boys team had won the conference championship eight years in a row. In addition, they had won the district five straight years and the State Championship three years in a row. Kneeling, from left: co-captains Harry “Red” Cole and Benji Washington.
