The Stanly Arts Guild is pleased to announce two art scholarships to be awarded in June 2025.
The first is the Patricia Blake Hartley Scholarship, established as a memorial to Patricia Blake Hartley, a long-time member and supporter of the Guild and of art education.
The scholarship is awarded annually to a college student from Stanly County (preferably a junior or senior) who is currently enrolled as a visual arts or arts education major.
A check for $1,000, to be applied to tuition costs, will be paid directly to the college in attendance of the scholarship winner. Application requirements must be completed and returned by 2 p.m. May 24 to be considered for this award.
A second scholarship is The Stanly Arts Guild Scholarship, and will be awarded to a high school senior planning to enroll, or a college freshman already enrolled in a visual arts or arts education program, and may be a resident of Stanly or adjoining county (Anson, Cabarrus, Montgomery, Rowan or Union).
A total of $500 will be paid directly to the college in attendance of the scholarship winner.
Applications for both of these awards are available at the Stanly Arts Guild, 330 N. Second St., in Albemarle, or by calling or texting Carole Poplin at 704 438-4644.
