Driver, passenger taken to hospital after accident near Albemarle High

Albemarle police responded to a single vehicle crash on Ridge Street near Albemarle High School at approximately 9:57 a.m. Tuesday.
The driver ran off the road and damaged a utility pole, disrupting electric service for approximately 90 minutes, according to the city. The driver and a passenger were transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The crash is under investigation.
