Dance! Dance! Dance!
To my fellow Democrats believe it or not, it is time to celebrate and party and enjoy life. You live this life only once. Don’t let Trump steal the joy of your life from you. It is your life. Don’t give it away.
I do know that for many of us the events of Election Day and since have been difficult to deal with. Many of us saw what was coming and now that it is here, it is devastating.
As sad as it is, nothing that Trump is doing should be a surprise. He told us over and over again.
Am I saying that we should roll over and let Trump do whatever he wants? No! He needs to be opposed. We are just not sure yet what all the battles will be.
Why then should we dance and celebrate?
Because there is joy and hope in the world, and we need to bring it into our lives. As it turns out, sad and angry people don’t get much done in the end.
So here is my advice:
1. Continue to do the things that bring joy to your life. Go to parties, go out to eat and do things to help people and bring joy to their lives.
2. Stay informed by watching a moderate amount of media. However, don’t get obsessed with it. Watching it all the time will drive you nuts.
3. Join in like-minded organizations and groups. It is good to be with other people.
4. When appropriate, speak truth to power.
5. Stay in contact with your God no matter how you perceive Him through prayer and/or meditation.
Take this precious life that was given you and live it to the fullest.
