On Dec. 9, 2024, the Village of Misenheimer Council selected Markus Lambert as the next police chief.
Lambert brings years of experience in both local law enforcement, as well as his dedication to military service.
Lambert served more than six years in the North Carolina Air National Guard as a crew chief on C-130 aircraft. He was deployed multiple times to Afghanistan, after which he was awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal for actions during deployment and stateside missions.
After completing Basic Law Enforcement Training at Stanly Community College, Lambert received the Top Shot and Damon Smith awards, in addition to several other service commendations during his two-plus years of service with the Concord Police Department.
He came to the Village of Misenheimer as a police officer, after which he quickly moved through the ranks up to sergeant, and then was most recently promoted into leadership as the new chief.
When asked about his vision and future plans in this new role, Lambert said, “As police chief for the Village of Misenheimer, I am fully committed to utilizing the community-oriented policing model to provide top-notch service to our citizens and businesses as well as Pfeiffer University and Gray Stone Day School. I look forward to meeting with community members to address any areas of concern and to share my vision for this department.”
“We are very fortunate to have Markus. His demeanor inspires confidence that benefits us all,” Mayor Michael Herron said.
Village Council member Jamie Hammill added, “Promoting from within is an added bonus. Markus is very well prepared and ready to lead from day one in this new leadership role. We are truly blessed to have him steering the future of our public safety efforts in the Village of Misenheimer.”
Lambert is married to Olivia, his wife of eight years, and they have two children.
