Late penalty kicks lifts MBU over Pfeiffer

Visiting Mary Baldwin University converted a penalty kick in the 86th minute to down Pfeiffer 2-1 in a USA South men’s soccer match in front of a large homecoming crowd at at Lefko-Mills Field.
The loss dropped the Falcons l to 4-7-3 overall and 1-3-1 in USA South play with the loss while MBU improved to 3-8-2 and 2-2-1 in league play.
How it Happened
The visiting Fighting Squirrels opened the scoring in the first half when Shawn Garner scored in the 12th minute on an assist from Edward Headley.
The Falcons would level the match on a goal from sophomore Karim Ndiaye in the 53rd minute on an assist from freshman Wesley Hooker. The goal was Ndiaye’s first of the season
David Romano’s 86th-minute penalty kick would provide the 2-1 final, with MBU spoiling the Falcon homecoming.
