The public is invited to hear Susan Rivers, author of “The Second Mrs. Hockaday,” speak at noon Oct. 18 at the regular monthly meeting of the Daughters of The Yadkin River Patriots.
The meeting will be at the YMCA Pavilion in the park across from the YMCA building on Second Street. Rivers’ novel is based on a true story she uncovered during her research on the Civil War for another novel she was writing.
The event is free.
