Stanly County Schools shared school performance data on Thursday, noting gains in school growth during the 2023-24 school year.
Of the 22 Stanly County schools receiving a school performance grade, 16 — or 72.8% — of schools received a grade of A, B, or C. Almost 50% of schools on the low-performing list for 2022-23 have exited that status.
Aquadale Elementary, Central Elementary, Endy Elementary, Norwood Elementary, South Stanly Middle and Stanfield Elementary are no longer considered low-performing schools, according to a press release from Stanly County Schools.
For the 2023-24 school year, 77% of Stanly County Schools exceeded or met expected growth, up from 45% during the 2022-23 school year. Eight schools exceeded expected growth, while nine met expected growth. Those schools that exceeded growth were Aquadale Elementary, Badin Elementary, Central Elementary, Endy Elementary, Locust Elementary, Richfield Elementary, Stanly Early College and Stanly STEM Early College.
Stanly County Schools had 87.8% of students graduating with their four-year cohort during the 2023-24 school year, which is higher than the graduation rate of 86.5% for all North Carolina schools.
