Albemarle’s Community Night Out, a free, family-friendly event that brings together neighbors and community groups, will take place Oct. 12.
The event will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at YMCA Park at 115 C. B. Crook Dr. in Albemarle.
This year’s Community Night Out will feature a bounce house, face painting, music, games and prizes, and food trucks. Additionally, local organizations will be on hand to provide community resources. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with first responders and non-profit groups that support the well-being and safety of the community.
“Community Night Out provides a fun, relaxed environment for the people we serve to meet our officers. Events like these can be a valuable crime prevention activity as we build police-resident partnerships and promote neighborhood cohesiveness. We’re looking forward strengthening the bond between the community and APD,” Albemarle Police Chief Jason Bollhorst said.
Albemarle’s Community Night Out is sponsored by Safe Kids Stanly County, a leading community organization focused on child safety and injury prevention.
“Supporting the Albemarle Community Night Out event has fostered a strong partnership with the Albemarle Police Department. This event offers a safe and enjoyable environment where families can explore community resources and partake in a variety of fun activities,” said Adam Palmer, Safe Kids Stanly County coordinator.
Albemarle’s Community Night Out has been an annual event for the past decade. In 2023, more than 1,000 people attended Community Night Out festivities.
