Stanly County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting from Friday involving a firefighter.
On Friday, a shooting happened at 24025 N.C. Highway 24-27 outside of Oakboro. During the incident, a local firefighter used radio communications to relay the event to Stanly County Communications, the Sheriff’s Office reports.
Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office were able to identify two shooters, one of whom was an off-duty volunteer firefighter.
The shooting resulted in a man being shot in the leg, who was treated and released with non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital.
The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed.
