In February, the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office began a child abuse investigation involving Mauldene Boger, a private foster parent.
After an extensive investigation, Boger has been charged with intentional child abuse- serious physical injury and assault inflicting serious injury with a minor present.

The Sheriff’s Office has not determined how long Boger has been a foster parent. She was working through a private company, according to a detective with the Sheriff’s Office.
“Right now, her charges are isolated to one child,” Sgt. Karcin Vick-Dunn said.
Boger has received a $35,000 secured bond and her initial court date is Sept. 9.
