Second suspect in Albemarle homicide case caught in New York

Law enforcement has arrested Jamie Jermaine Mack, 18, of Kannapolis, in connection to a homicide that occurred in Albemarle on July 24.
Mack was taken into custody in Buffalo, New York on Aug. 15 by the US Marshal North Carolina Regional Fugitive Task Force. Mack is being held in the Erie County Detention Center in Buffalo.

Mack faces charges including first-degree murder, attempted armed robbery and assault with deadly weapon intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
On July 24, at approximately 10:25 a.m. the Albemarle Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 1400 block of North Sixth Street. Upon arrival officers found Dy’Zavious Izayah Bivens, 18, of Albemarle deceased.
A second suspect, Damani Jacquez Wall, 18, of Albemarle also faces charges including first-degree murder, attempted armed robbery and assault with deadly weapon intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
Investigation indicates this was not a random act and that the parties involved were known to one another.
