The following was submitted by Kim McGowen, annual giving officer for Stanly Health Foundation, host of Stanly County’s “Dancing With the Stars.”

Get ready for an exciting performance as Kolby and Mike Hatley take the stage at the 12th annual Dancing with the Stars event, benefiting Butterfly House Children’s Advocacy Center. This dynamic father-daughter duo is set to light up the floor with their talent and enthusiasm.
Kolby Hatley, a proud native of Aquadale, is returning to the dance floor with a wealth of experience and passion.
Known for her hip-hop skills, Kolby has been dancing for nine years and is eager to showcase her moves once again. Currently in her first year of pharmacy school at Wingate University, Kolby is pursuing a career in clinical pharmacy.
When she’s not immersed in her studies, Kolby enjoys spending time with her friends, family and her two beloved dogs, Jeter and Maverick. She also loves reading and traveling to racetracks with her boyfriend.
Kolby previously delighted audiences as part of Team Highly Koal-ified and is thrilled to be back, embracing a little sibling rivalry with her sister, Peyton, and dancing alongside her father, Mike. A fun fact about Kolby is that one of her front teeth is artificial, she was born without it.
Mike Hatley is a lifelong resident of the Aquadale community and a graduate of South Stanly High School.
With a background in management at Westrock Coffee (formerly S&D Coffee) in Concord, Mike balances his professional life with his passion for sports, pro wrestling events, and family vacations.
Married for 25 years to his wife Jill, Mike has two daughters, Peyton and Kolby, and a furry family including a dog named Jeter and a grand pup named Maverick.
Over the past few months, Mike has been dedicating himself to learning dance, guided by choreographer Christy T. He extends his gratitude to everyone who supported Team #HatleyHustle and contributed to their fundraising efforts for the Butterfly House.
Mike’s fun fact is that his toes are always painted.
The event, scheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 7, 2024 at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center, promises a memorable evening with the theme “Magic of Motown.” With 11 talented dance teams preparing to dazzle the audience, it’s an occasion to celebrate community spirit and support a worthy cause.
Tickets are available now, and all proceeds will benefit the Butterfly House Children’s Advocacy Center, offering crucial services to children and families in need.
