Albemarle Fire Department Responds to Mobile Home Fire
ALBEMARLE, NC –

At 12:33 a.m. Tuesday, Albemarle Fire Department responded to a fire in the 2300 block of East Main Street. Upon arrival firefighters reported fire showing from a single-wide mobile home.
The fire was quickly brought under control, and firefighters searched to ensure there were no occupants in the home.
The Albemarle Fire Department fire marshal determined discarded smoking material in the bed was the cause of the fire.
A tenant reported waking up to a mattress on fire. The tenant was able to safely exit the structure.
The American Red Cross was notified, and it is assisting the tenant with housing and services such as food and clothing.
