Albemarle Police assists Cabarrus County in two-county chase, arrest

On July 22, Albemarle Police Department assisted Cabarrus
County in the apprehension of two suspects who led law enforcement on a pursuit that was initiated by the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office in Cabarrus County.
The suspect vehicle entered Albemarle just before 9 p.m. on N.C. Highway 73. A short time later, the Albemarle Police Department successfully deployed stop sticks. The driver of the vehicle ran off
the road on West Main Street near Memory Lane before striking a utility pole. No injuries were reported.
The driver, 27-year-old Samantha Ezzell, faces multiple charges including Driving While License Revoked, Fictitious Plate, Careless and Reckless Driving, Aggressive Driving, Speeding, Failure
to Maintain Lane Control.
The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office took Ezzell and a passenger into custody and transported them back to Cabarrus County Jail.
