The Town of Norwood issued a message about the town’s drinking water Wednesday and the condition has not changed any on Thursday.
“Residents may have observed discoloration in the Town’s drinking water over the past day or so,” the post begins. “This discoloration is coming from manganese in the lake water. The levels of manganese in our treated water are below State maximum levels and are dropping. These levels of manganese do not represent a health issue but more of an aesthetic and possible taste issue. The water treatment plant staff will monitor this closely until this is resolved. Although we are seeing the levels of manganese drop at the water plant, it may take a few days for all of the Town’s stored water to work through the system.”
