Catawba College will host program on climate justice

Catawba College’s Center for the Environment, the local NAACP and Reimagining America Project are kicking off Black History Month with a community conversation on climate justice. The event will take place in Catawba’s Center for the Environment, Room 302 at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 1. Refreshments begin at 6 pm. Virtual attendance is available.

Join five panelists for a community conversation on solutions for North Carolina.

Panelists include:

• Gemale A. Black, president of Salisbury-Rowan NAACP;

• Edgar Miller, Yadkin Riverkeeper;

• Jennifer Roberts, mayor of Charlotte;

• Jeffrey Robbins, executive director, CleanAIRE NC; and

•  Dr. Mercedes Quesada-Embid, Catawba College associate professor of environmental policy and advocacy.
