VFW offers many events

The following activities are at the VFW Post 2908, 119 Anderson Road, Albemarle:
• A National Spaghetti Day party and cookoff Jan. 4;
• “Winter Wonderland” party at 7 p.m. Jan. 6. Dress in snow suit attire for a best dressed contest. There will be finger foods and karaoke with Kelly Lowder at 8 p.m.
• The VFW will honor the county’s law enforcement, EMS, first responders and nurses with a free lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 20. RSVP by Jan. 18 to 704-982-6383. Leave a message with the number that will be attending.
• country line dance lessons are 7-9 p.m. each Wednesday with instrutor Jeff Pressley. Cost is $6 per person. Water and drinks will be sold in the canteen.
• a fundraiser pool tournament will be at 7:30 p.m. each Friday. Proceeds go for the Relief Fund to help veterans in need. Cost is $10 per player, with $3 of it going to the Relief Fund;
• Bingo at 6 p.m. each Tuesday.
The public is invited to all events.
