A former Albemarle police officer has been arrested, according to a report from WSOC-TV.

Logan Johnson faces a sexual battery charge in Union County, WSOC reported Wednesday night. He used a computer or electronic device to meet a child to have sex, investigators told WSOC.
He also faces a charge of statutory sex offense and taking indecent liberties with a child, WSOC said.
Johnson, who began with the patrol division in August 2021, resigned in November 2022 after being accused of sex crimes involving a child, according to The Stanly News & Press.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office continues an investigation.
