As cybersecurity concerns grow more widespread and cyber assaults against individuals and businesses increase, the need for cybersecurity experts to serve as the primary defense is rising, according to SCC.
Stanly Community College and the SCC IT-Cybersecurity program have been designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) through 2028.
The validation of the IT Cybersecurity program was the initial step enabling the college to apply for the designation as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) as an institution.
The National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) co-sponsor the CAE-CD program to enhance and promote the expertise of cybersecurity professionals within numerous government agencies at federal, state and local levels.
Colleges and universities that receive CAE designation from the U.S. government undergo rigorous evaluations to assess their capabilities.
