At its meeting Thursday Locust City Council will consider two zoning matters held over from its August meeting.

M/I Homes of Charlotte is seeking a conditional rezoning from Open Space to Open Space – Conditional for a 218-acre tract at the intersection of North Central Street and Meadowcreek Church Road. The developer plans to build a 184-unit single family residential subdivision on the site.

In an application first submitted in early 2022, PVG Trucking is requesting a site plan change to a previously-approved conditional rezoning of the company’s property off Locust Level Drive.

According to information from the Locust City website, the conditional use request is a result of the firm having removed its original plans to sell new and used automobiles at the site. In addition, the developer has “presented substantial changes to the site plan,” which will require new approval by council.

The council will meet at the Joel Huneycutt Community Room at Locust City Hall at 7 p.m. Thursday.
