Stanly County residents received calls from Albemarle Police advising them to stay inside their homes shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday.
The reason was revealed a few hours later by Albemarle Public Information Officer David Fath.
“The Albemarle Police Department and Stanly County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a barricaded individual threatening self harm at a home on Pee Dee Avenue,” Fath said by email. “The individual was taken into custody without incident.”
