The Town of Norwood decided on a new town administrator Monday night.
The council approved making Ray Allen the town administrator in a part-time capacity.
Allen, who served for nearly 30 years as city manager of Albemarle, has been interim town administrator for Norwood since May.
“I am pleased to have the opportunity to work with the elected officials, staff and citizens of this special community,” Allen said.
He will work in this role for up to 1,000 hours per year at $60 per hour, Allen said.
“He’s very familiar with Norwood, very familiar with the processes,” said Mayor Linda Campbell, pointing out Allen’s previous stint as interim administrator during 2019.
“We’ve been very happy with what’s gone on the last few months,” she added.
She said Allen spoke “very highly of our office staff.”
