Stanly Community College will present Full STEAM Ahead 5-7 p.m. April 13 in the Patterson Building labs at 141 College Dr. on the Albemarle campus.

Designed for students in elementary and middle school, Full STEAM Ahead will feature activities that demonstrate how aspects of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) are connected to everyone’s daily life.

Attendees have hands-on opportunities including soap-powered boats, life in a beaker experiments, plant pigment art, fizzy rockets, digital dissection table and more. The event is free to the public.

“We are very excited to participate in this year’s North Carolina Science Festival and share some fun STEAM activities with kids from our community,” said Michael Lowder, program chair of SCC’s Department of Life and Physical Sciences.

As an official 2023 North Carolina Science Festival event, this activity is among hundreds of community-based events that are highlighting STEAM activities for the citizens of North Carolina.

The North Carolina Science Festival is presented by the Biogen Foundation and produced by Morehead Planetarium and Science Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
