Easton Press, Zane Grey highlighted at Friends of the Stanly County Library book sale

The Friends of the Stanly County Library will have its fall book sale Oct. 5-8 in the lower level of the Albemarle library.
From 4-7 p.m. Oct. 5, Friends members with active paid memberships have a special opportunity to shop for books at half price.
Memberships can be renewed or purchased at the door.
Oct. 6-7, the doors open to the public from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Oct. 8 is bargain bag day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Books can be purchased for $1 a bag.
Proceeds help the Friends of the Stanly County Library support public library services in all branches.
The sale includes hardbacks and paperbacks in children’s, young adult, and adult books. Also available are CDs, audiobooks, DVDs and more.
Prices range from $.25 to $1.
This sale includes some special collections that will be offered with special pricing. Some Easton Press leather bound books — classics and poetry, and a set of 18 vintage Zane Grey novels. There will also be some sets of vintage history books including “The Story of Civilization” by Will Durant and the “Abraham Lincoln The Prairie and the War Years” by Carl Sandburg. Also available are new comic books and a collection of DVDs from a local collector.
Friends of the Stanly County Library, formed as a nonprofit in 1992, supports the Stanly County Library and its services, informs others of issues affecting the library and assists in promoting literacy in Stanly County.
Each year the Friends sponsor special events such as author presentations, workshops, fall and spring book sales, and the Children’s Summer Reading Program.
