The Stanly County Chamber is excited for a busy spring and summer in the county. We are working with many businesses to schedule ribbon cutting events as well as a full calendar of Business After Hours for the year. We are so excited and appreciative of the support we have received from our members and the community for the return of the Business After Hour Program.
Another favorite Chamber program is being planned now. Leadership Stanly applications are now available online and at our office. Please consider nominating an employee, colleague, member of your church congregation, family member or anyone you feel has the potential (or is) a great leader that would make the most out of this great opportunity.
Requirements are that each participant devotes one full day per month from October through May, with attendance at a two-day retreat in September. The eight lecture/discussion/tour sessions include history & community overview, education, health care and human services, justice system, local government and public service, manufacturing, industry and business, economic development and agri-business.
Candidates must be a resident of, or working in, Stanly County. Application deadline is Aug. 22. To complete the application visit: https://stanlychamber.org/leadership-stanly/
Make plans to join the Stanly Community College Small Business Center and the Chamber for a new program: Leads at Lunch. The first Leads at Lunch program is Tuesday at noon. We will focus on IT for businesses, with Jeff Drake, IT specialist, as presenter. We will meet at SCC Crutchfield Education Center in Locust.
Please register on the Small Business Center or Chamber website. All chamber members are invited to attend free of charge and lunch will be provided. Union Power Cooperative is the sponsor of this program for 2022.
The next Business After Hours will be hosted by the Biz Spa at the Tomahawk Throwing Range & Blade Shop, LLC on May 19 from 5:30-7 p.m. Join us for networking, food and fun. RSVP to Anissa Enamait at anissa@stanlychamber.org by May 17.
Save the Date for upcoming Chamber events: Stanly County Safety Awards Banquet Luncheon on June 15 at Snyder Community Room Pfeiffer University in Albemarle; Golf Classic on Aug. 17 at Piney Point Golf Club in Norwood; Albemarle Rotary Club and Stanly County Chamber of Commerce Reverse Raffle on Nov. 12.
