Stanly commissioners appoint members to local boards

The Stanly County Board of Commissioners have approved a number of appointments to several local boards.

For the authority board of the Stanly County Airport, Brad Holbrooks was elected with a 6-1 vote. Commissioner Mike Barbee nominated a different person, Art Whitaker, and did not vote for Holbrooks.

For the Economic Development Commission board, four of the five districts representatives were approved with a unanimous vote: Phillip Austin (Dist. 1), Steve Bradley (Dist. 2), Wes Morgan (Dist. 3) and Wil Huneycutt (Dist. 5).

In District 4, Greg Underwood was re-elected to the board with a 5-2 vote, with commissioners Tommy Jordan and Scott Efird voting against it.

For the Board of Adjustments, Cynthia Fish, Brenda Farmer and Rick Johnson were elected with unanimous votes.

Kristy Huneycutt, the human resources director for Preformed Line Products in Albemarle, was elected to the Centralina Workforce Development Board.
