Stephanie Campbell, who has led the Stanly County Family YMCA in the membership services department for the past 10 years, will be stepping down from her position as of July 30.
She will begin a new position working for Carolina Marketing Inc., a company owned by her family.
“Stephanie has been an ideal employee at our YMCA,” Stanly County YMCA CEO George Crooker said. “She set a fine example of professionalism and quality to the Membership Department, as well as a personal, caring culture that is our industry standard. In her time here she has been largely responsible for bringing our Y to new heights, and made us smile. She leaves big shoes to fill, and she will be missed.”
Dee Pankey Thompson, ex-Y Board member, added: “Stephanie is a wonderful ray of sunshine for our Y who treated people with dignity and respect. Her work ethic exemplified what a Y employee should be.”
Stephanie’s YMCA staff family is excited for her and wishes her well on her new endeavor. Those wanting to wish Stephanie well can contact her personally, or do so in a small send-off in the Y lobby on July 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“The YMCA has been a huge part of my life for the past 10 years,” Campbell said. “It has been a great honor to work for an organization that focuses on the needs of our community and enhancing the lives of so many. The relationships I made with my coworkers, staff and members will forever impact who I am as a person.”
