BADIN/PALESTINE NEWS: VFD in need of volunteers

Badin Library 

Stop by the town library Monday or Thursday from 1-5 p.m. or on Tuesday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The shelves are full of books waiting to be read.

Historic Museum

The museum is open for visitors each Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Come check out never-before-seen pictures from France of the Narrows Dam construction, or additional information about the people who wandered and gathered along the Yadkin River 10,000 years ago. New items from the Badin schools will also be of interest. Please wear masks.

Badin Churches 

Badin Baptist, on Falls Road, has returned to a full schedule of in-person gatherings beginning with Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. Bible study meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Badin UMC is looking forward to Easter Sunday services. A sunrise service at Badin Lake will begin at 7 a.m. April 4 led by Pastor Beau Linker, and in-person worship at 11 a.m., 18 Hickory St.

Palestine UMC in-person Sunday worship services are at 11 a.m. Please arrive early for temperature checks and for seating. The service will also be broadcast to cars in the parking lot on 107.7 FM.

Badin Presbyterian is meeting for Sunday worship at 10 a.m.

Stony Hill UMC has begun indoor Sunday worship once again at 10:30 a.m. The service will also be streamed via Facebook, and broadcast to cars in the parking lot.

Better Badin, Inc. 

Plans have been made for the semi-annual community yard sale April 10 in the Alcoa parking lot on NC-740 from 7 a.m. to noon. A fee of $10 will be charged for a 10-foot x 10-foot space.

Better Badin will also sell donated items for anyone not wishing to open a booth, with proceeds going to Better Badin. Coffee and biscuits will be sold.

Badin VFD 

Volunteers are needed to meet the demands for EMS and fire rescue personnel in the area. Please inquire at the firehouse, 125 NC Highway 740, Badin.
