Pfeiffer golf leads at Diamondback Intercollegiate after one round
Pfeiffer sophomore Kevin Burris is the overall leader and the men’s team stand in first place after finishing round one of the Diamondback Intercollegiate at the Diamondback Golf Club in Loris, S.C.
All five Falcon players stand within the top-11 after round one. Kevin Burris, from Norwood, N.C., holds the individual first round lead after shooting a one-under 71. Teammate Elijah Todd (Roebuck, S.C.) had a great first round, returning a 76 (+4) to stand in fourth overall. Ezekiel Sigmon (Connolly Springs, N.C.) stands in seventh with a +8 (80) and Pedro Torres (Guayaquil, Ecuador) is tied for eighth place with a 81 (+9). Wesley Page (Gibsonville, N.C.) rounds out the first round scores for the Falcons as he holds 11th place with an 83 (+11).
In the team competition, Pfeiffer leads Belmont Abbey (B) by 11 shots and Belmont Abbey (C) by 19 shots. Host Mars Hill stands in fourth, 26 shots behind the Falcons.
