Once again, the North Carolina electorate has opted to send our effective, high-impact leadership back to the Senate. I congratulate Sen. Thom Tillis on his re-election to the seat in which he has done so much for our great state and I look forward to seeing his leadership, dedication and bipartisan approach for another six years.

Just in the past several months, he has demonstrated prioritization of creating a more resilient, sustainable North Carolina as he pulled his colleagues together to send a pro-renewables letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. This letter outlines that not only is clean energy a winning issue for Republicans, but that it must play a critical role in re-energizing the U.S. economy as we mitigate COVID-19 economic disruption. This was truly insightful, thoughtful action that he chose to take the reins on.

During his next term, NC constituents hope that Sen. Tillis will continue down this path. Modernizing our electric grid, positioning the U.S. to be a clean energy leader and enhancing our national security through energy independence are noble, attainable goals, and we should continue to encourage him to focus his efforts toward them over his next term.
