Like Mr. Abernathy, I will also be voting for this great country. I will be voting for an America where “liberty and justice for all” are more than words, where Black Lives Matter, and where the first 13 words of the Second Amendment are as important as the next seven.

I will be voting for an America where public health crises are addressed with science and not politics, an America where those who have sacrificed for our freedoms are not labeled “losers” and “suckers,” and an America where everyone can worship God (or not) as they choose without fear of reprisal while observing the constitutional separation of church and state.

I will vote for an America where a free press is not the enemy of the people, where facts matter and where I can voice my opinion without being censored or having my yard signs stolen.

I will vote for an America where billionaires pay more in taxes than I do and health care is a right, not a privilege.

I will vote for an America based on unity rather than division, empathy rather than enmity, kindness rather than hate and responsibility rather than blame.

I will be voting for Joe Biden.
