Oakboro man killed in wreck in Alabama

An Oakboro man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Oct. 14 near Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Public Affairs Officer Senior Trooper Reginal King said that the victim, identified as David Jason Culpepper, 43, left the roadway on his 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle and struck a guardrail. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Time of death was around 2:45 p.m.

The crash occurred on Interstate 59 near the 80 mile marker, approximately three miles north of Tuscaloosa city limits.

King said while the incident remains under investigation, speed is believed to have played a role.
