Albemarle Police have arrested a juvenile following the robbery of a local store.

Police were dispatched to Boost Mobile, 755 N.C. Highway 24-27, at 3:33 p.m. Wednesday in reference to an armed robbery.

Officers had been advised by 911 Communications that a male entered the store and pointed a gun. The suspect forced a female into a storeroom, police said, before taking several cellphones from the business and fleeing.

Police arrived on the scene and began an investigation. Officers later found a suspect in a wooded area near Groves Avenue. He was arrested.

Since the suspect is a juvenile, police are withholding his name from release.
