The following is Kevin Adams, principal of Stanly Early College and Stanly STEM Early College.
Welcome back! The faculty of Stanly Early College and Stanly STEM Early College are excited to welcome our new and returning students for the 2020-2021 school year.
Kevin Adams
School for early college students will look differently this year, with students possibly participating in both hybrid and virtual high school and college level courses. In these times of change, our mission remains the same: that our graduates are career- and college-ready, earning both a high school diploma and an associate degree from Stanly Community College.
Our students will continue to succeed in the rigorous programs of study and obtain the goals they set. Last year’s early college graduates were accepted to 96 different universities, earning over $3.6 million in offered scholarships. In the current senior class, 83 percent of students are on track to graduate with both a high school diploma and an associate degree in just four years.
We know that great things are going to continue to happen at the early colleges during the 2020-
2021 school year, and look forward to supporting student success.
