Stanly Community College is registering students for online summer classes.

All classes will be delivered online through the Canvas learning platform, a digital learning environment. SCC is the only North Carolina Community College that currently uses Canvas, which also has a student mobile app for Android and iOS devices. Students are able to access their courses 24/7.

SCC holds the second highest ranking for the 2020 Best Community Colleges in North Carolina, by Niche.com. Niche rankings are based on rigorous analysis of key statistics from the U.S. Department of Education and millions of reviews.

Additionally, SCC’s IT Academy offers online courses for the technology professionals at all levels. Courses range from Red Hat Academy, VMware IT Academy, Palo Alto Networks Academy, Microsoft IT Academy, Cisco Networking Academy, Python and more.

The IT Academy also offers dozens of specialized courses enabling individuals to gain the skills needed to earn industry-driven certifications in IT. Certifications require fewer classes
than degrees and can be taken completely online. Summer courses begin on May 27.
