The man who police say drove into a building on U.S. Highway 52 North Monday night has been cited. 

On Wednesday, Albemarle police charged 22-year-old Dalton Khan with driving left of center and reckless driving. 

Around 10:15 p.m. Monday, Khan was traveling north on U.S. 52 when he crossed into the left lane and clipped another vehicle, causing it to spin out. Khan then traveled 191 feet off the roadway before striking a utility pole. 

After hitting the pole, Khan traveled another 150 feet and ran into the side of a building at 2511 U.S. 52 N., police said.

Police said he caused more than $10,000 in damage. 

Khan is scheduled to appear in court Sept 25.
