South softball downed at Piedmont

The South Stanly Rebel Bulls softball team saw a six-game win streak end on Wednesday night with a 2-1 loss in eight innings at Piedmont in a non-conference matchup.
Kaitlyn Tucker, Sadie Lee and Adison Campbell each had two hits in the loss for South (13-2).
On the mound, Lee allowed one earned ron on four hits with no walks and three strikeouts in taking the loss for the Bulls.
South took the lead in the top of the first inning with a run but the Panthers (9-8) scored single runs in the fourth and eighth innings to get the win.
The Bulls enter the final week of the season with a 39-game regular season conference win streak dating back several seasons. South will host Albemarle for a doubleheader Monday then play at North Stanly Tuesday.
