2 face drug charges

The Stanly County Drug Taskforce, consisting of detectives from the Albemarle Police Department and the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office, confiscated 532.2 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of $50,000 and seized $1,271 on Thursday in the parking lot of the ABC Store in Albemarle.
A drug investigation led the detectives to some individuals that were arrested and charged, according to Albemarle Police.
Rakeem Johnta Baldwin, 21, of 180 Parker Road, Mount Gilead, was charged with felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling as a place to sell controlled substance, two counts of felony trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor resisting public officer.
He was transported to the Stanly County Jail and received a $250,000 secured bond.
Taryn Elisia Rushing, 18, of 37281 Barnhart Road, Albemarle, was charged with felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling as a place to sell controlled substance, two counts of felony trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine.
She received a $250,000 secured bond.
