Linda Tucker Austin, 75, of Oakboro, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at Novant Health – Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte.
Mrs. Austin was born April 1, 1943 in Stanly County to the late Mason James Tucker and the late Hallie Kennedy Tucker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Gene Austin and brother, James Edward Tucker.
Linda was a loving mother, nana, and friend. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and was an active member of her church.
The funeral service will be on Sunday, February 24, 2019, at 3:00 PM at Mineral Springs Baptist Church, 4694 NC-205, Oakboro officiated by Rev. Kinney Wallace. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church’s fellowship hall following the service.
Survivors include son, Phillip G. Austin of Oakboro; daughter, Karla Austin Shelton of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Kathryn Elizabeth Shelton, Stephen Lee Shelton, Jr., Tucker Joseph Shelton, Sophia Isabella Austin, and Nicholas Joseph Austin.
