Lucille Bost Vanhoy, 84, of Gold Hill, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019.
She was born June 9, 1934, in Gold Hill to the late Oren John Bost and Stella Sides Bost.
Mrs. Vanhoy was a 1951 Graduate of Rockwell High School and retired from Carolina Maid where she was a seamstress.
A member of Rockwell United Methodist Church, she was active with the United Methodist Women and the Golden Rule Sunday School Class. Mrs. Vanhoy enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 65 years, Everette Lyvon Vanhoy, who passed away May 31, 2018; son, Robin Everette; and brother, Banks Bost.
Mrs. Vanhoy is survived by her sons, Rick Vanhoy and wife, Crystal, of China Grove, Mike Vanhoy and wife, Carolyn, of Star; brother, Oscar Bost of Faith; sister, Rachel Miller of Gold Hill; grandchildren, Jana Hartsell and husband, Josh, Courtney Garrett and husband, Keith, Hillary Absher and husband, Travis, Neill McCaskill and wife, Lauren, and Alec McCaskill and wife, Holly; and ten great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends and relatives from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 24, 2019, in Rockwell United Methodist Church, Rockwell with Rev. Charles Curtis and Dr. Wallace C. Gaither, Jr., officiating.
Burial will follow in Gold Hill Cemetery.
