Mr. John David Adkins, 55, of Rutherford College, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Catawba Valley Medical Center after a sudden illness.
Mr. Adkins was born December 21, 1963 in Stanly County, a son of W.C. Adkins and Kay Redwine Russell.
John was a member of United Baptist Church.
He was employed as a RN with Advanced Home Care and had previously been employed with College Pines Nursing Center.
John was the loving father and best friend of his son, Elijah Adkins, who survives, of the home. Also surviving are his mother and step-father, Kay Redwine Russell and Ralph June Russell of Mount Gilead, NC, father, W.C. Adkins of TN, brother, Jeffrey D. Taylor and Sommer of Badin, NC, a sister Martha A. Knight of Oak Island, NC and the mother of his son, Leslie Berry Adkins of Rutherford College.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday February 14, 2019 in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese, with Rev. Dan Morton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 6:00 P.M. Thursday at Heritage Funeral Services, Valdese.
