Geraldine “Dean” Little Austin, 88, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019 at her daughter’s home.
Mrs. Austin was born June 25, 1930 in Union County to the late George Washington Little and the late Carrie Grace Moore Little.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Ray Austin; a son, Gerald Steve Austin; and a grandson, Christopher Scott Wiley.
Dean was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Oakboro.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Mineral Springs Baptist Church, 4694 NC-205, Oakboro officiated by Rev. Rex Burleson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include son; Allen Ray Austin of Midland; daughter, Sandra Austin Burleson and husband Rex of Albemarle; grandchildren, Christina Eudy (Tony) of Oakboro, Shane Burleson (Deanna) of Albemarle, Landon Austin (Kodi) of Norwood, Kara Austin of Midland, Matthew “Matt” Cripps of Greenville, SC and Cheri Bankhead of Matthews; ten great grandchildren, Justin, Cody, Connor, Ashley, Kaydenn, Clayton, Allyson, Christopher, Raleigh, and Victoria; two great great granddaughters, Kaleigh and Izzie; sisters, Patsy Little Burgess of Albemarle and Helen Little Gaddy of Polkton; and sister-in-law, Betty Austin Whitley.
